Greetings from the River of Boiling Water, where it’s all gone tits up because it’s freaking cold out here, dear readers. I’ve just returned from the Old North State after spending some time with my family and friends.

Let’s see how this goes…

On the Internets:

Our devolution as a species has clearly begun now that we have piss sock phone chargers.

unnamed

Lemmy died.

This is all terrible since the endless cycle of bad news can be bad for your health.

Locally:

Being back in NC was a lot of fun. I got to spend a lot of time with my nieces and watch how they have developed into humans. They love to play games, and we ended up playing a crap load of Despicable Me Minion Game of Life. It’s pretty freaking terrible. I mean, at least with regular old life, you get to push the neat little car around shoving in your partner and all of your little offspring as you try to make your way to the bigtime and retire in that sweet little mansion. But in this version, it’s stripped of all that and you just kind of circle around a board doing dumb shit until finally you make enough money to win. LAME.

I’ve Been Reading:

I recently found a pretty sweet app called Hoopla, which essentially acts like a digital media store, but in cooperation with your local library. Loads of great stuff on there, and that’s where I’ve been reading The Sandman books by Neil Gaiman. Yes, I am terrible for having not read them before.

Eye Pollution:

Haven’t had a lot of time in front of the television with the traveling. I suspect that will change again soon.

Boring, Boring Arsenal:

Lucky for me, NC has loads of Gunners fans, so I got to spend a little time with both the Cape Fear Gooners and The Triangle Gooners to root for The Arsenal. I was somehow able to convince the CFG that I was not bad luck after the horrible loss to Southampton, and while the team played poorly Saturday against Newcastle, it was still enough to take the three points and the top of the league.
