1972 Men’s Basketball team playing SFA for the Lone Star Conference title. The Kats took second, while SFA took first. Number 21 James Lister, pictured here, made All-Lone Star Conference that year, as well as 1970, 1971, and 1973. Lister also made the NAIA All-America First Team in 1972, and even tried out for the US Olympic Basketball Team, where he made alternate.

Nice weather means nice rides and yesterday was beautiful. Our ride took us down and around the Bronson Parkway, then a quick circle through Hill N’Brook, at which point Chopper Brad noticed that there was some trouble with his exhaust, so we headed back to the shop, then rode to get some beer and pizza at Old Dog Tavern.
In attendance:

U.S. Marines on Guam salute the U.S. Coast Guard on Coast Guard Day
The U.S. Marines salute the U.S. Coast Guard after the fury of battle had subsided and the Japanese on Guam had been defeated. “They (the Coast Guard) Put Us Here and We Intend to Stay” is the way the Marines felt about it., ca. 08/1944
The precursor to the Coast Guard, the United States Revenue Cutter Service, was established under the Department of Treasury by Alexander Hamilton on August 4, 1790, now commemorated as Coast Guard Day.
